Right now i want... background reading

OK. So, there is a growing debate over the new Tiger feature Dashboard and Konfabulator, and whether Apple is ripping off a thrid party developer and stealing their livelihoods (etc, etc...), or, if Apple is just releasing their new incarnation of Desktop Accessories... and so on.

before i delve into my own diagnosis (because, really guys, i actually am at work and i need to get stuff done, you can give me a few hours), i'd like to point y'all to some interesting boards where the debate is unfolding.... admittedly, some of these are prime examples of preaching to the choir, but... still. worth reading, especially if you have the time and are interested (infuriated) by the whole discussion.

let's not forget those banners i posted earlier... "redmond, start your copiers"... the principle of intellectual property in the relm of open source and the difference between competition and stealing are key features in these discussions. but let's not forget, boys and girls, there are differences between Microsoft and Apple. and the history of the world goes back before the turn of the millenium.

and nothing is settled by just slinging buzzwords... and punches, as in the case of my EECS 481 class. so, think, process, breathe, form your own opinions, and come back to me with at least 3 concrete points supporting your case.
