Background Noise: Practical Magic (it's on tv)
Last website visited: The Phantom of the Opera MOVIE
Mood: geeked!
Right now i want... :)

oh. wow. i need to stop and breathe :) i... i have something to admit. the phantom of the opera is probably my favorite musical of all time. yes, that is a big statement to make, and yes, i'm bordering on tacky by saying it, but... wow. it was the first real musical i ever saw, or the first one i can remember, when i was little, living in canada. i think i've seen it 10 times on stage, while it was running at the Pantagas Theater.... this story gets long winded fast, but... the point is, this musical is what made me want to perform. it stirs something inside me, such that it hurts to not get up and sing and dream along with it.

all this from a webber musical. how sad. how wonderful :)

:) and now it will be a movie.

i was actually mortally afraid that it would suck. it had to -- had no shot of ever being good -- how on earth could any flat movie portrayl ever come close to the power of the theater? :) from the trailer recently released, and from the little cast information that exists now, i am more than relieved to report that everything will be alright :)

don't believe me? check it out for yourself!

for the record, i am a Original Toronto Cast Phantom snob. any mention of a show existing without Rebecca Caine or Colm wilkinson is herecy. uttering the words "michael crawford" or "sarah brightman" is cause for me to forever consider your taste nonexistent.

:) and oh my god is the new phantom hot. let's hope the man can sing. certainly adds an interesting element to christine's choice....
