Right now i want... to mention what i forgot

i saw movies this weekend: saved!, the passion*, and super size me. and i have to say.... i highly recommend both saved! and super size me! they were amazing films with good messages and should be seen by one and all of my friends :)

now... yes, i saw the passion of the christ. what the hell? you say? ;) don't worry, i was surprised as you were. i had a conversation late last week about saved! with someone who, based on the trailer, made certain assumptions about the movie that made him upset and not want to see it. honestly, when i first saw the trailer, i was shocked. it looked awful. the reviews were surprising though, so i wanted to see for myself. this person refused to see it, though, because of what he was sure the movie was about. he countered that i had pre-judged the passion, which he liked, so i shouldn't be allowed to yell at him about not wanting to see saved!. and the bitch of it was, he was right. he was totally, 100% right, and i couldn't stand it. even though i felt my objections to not seeing the passion were valid, i knew that his were equally valid. after i saw saved! i really wanted (and still want) to take him to see it. i think he'll actually really enjoy it. and i realized that i couldn't ask him to go until i saw the passion. so i found a theater that was still playing it, and went. i can't say i'm glad i saw the movie. i can't say i liked it, even. but i did see it, and the beautiful thing about that is, i can now intelligently speak about it and why it's a horrid film.

so i should thank my friend for making me realize i was being a hypocrite, letting me correct it, and! giving me fuel for the fire of my argument.
