Right now i want... my couch!

ok. you may remember that when i first got to california, i needed furniture. well, i still need furniture, but that's not quite the point. i went to crate and barrel, and, thinking i would actually have a healthy cash flow out here, picked out a perfect collection of furniture for myself. everyone says so. "it looks like you!" they all say. great. well, i mean, it is good, that my friends can see my personality in my style, but that isn't the point right now.

"gee, Anne," you ask "why are you bringing this stuff up again now?"

"well, dear friend" i reply, "the evil, manipulative people at crate and barrel just sent me a catelog of everything i wanted to buy, cheerfully telling me that the sofa i want is on sale!"

on sale! several hundred dollars off! it's not fair! i still want it, i still can't afford it, and they send me a tantalizing color catelog with beautiful pictures showing me what my apartment could look like.

it's torture. it's brilliant, but it's still torture.
