the WB is reairing episode 4-14 tonight (now), which includes the memorable and very appropriate breakdown:

LORELAI: You know, there are very few times in my life when I find myself sitting around thinking, "I wish I was married," but today, I mean -- I'm happy. You know? I like my life. I like my friends. I like my stuff. My time, my space, my TV.

LUKE: Yeah, sure.

LORELAI: But every now and then, just for a moment, I wish I had a partner, someone to pick up the slack. Someone to wait for the cable guy, make me coffee in the morning....

somehow, watching this episode makes me feel better. and :) so does knowing that i have all of season 4 on my laptop (common WB! let me buy more than season one! i want to give you my money! more seasons soon!) so i don't have to wait for a month and a half to see where this episode leads....

silly networks. trump tivo, trump peer-to-peer networks: put your tv shows on dvd, without commercials and in a timely fashion (how about after the season ends? you have the technology to do it), and people will happily buy them! you'll make money! if you're worried about printing too many copies, set up a cafe press style site so we can order them on demand and you print them on demand. check the business model, it's worked for books and shirts and mugs and who knows what else.
