Background Noise: something on vh1
Last website visited: the rounds :)
Mood: either sleepy or bored, not enough coffee to tell...
Right now i want... ooh, coffee :) there's a thought

hi. i just realized it's been a while since i've posted anything. i've just been so slammed since i got back from new york, i didn't have many cycles left to process anything that had happened, or really, do anything (after all my requirements) but sleep.

so, let's see... a quick list of things i did in the past week. i'll include stuff from nyc, just because i didn't talk about it before:

sunday:
- marla got married.
- i got to new york, spent the afternoon reading in union square park. it was perfect.
- barb told her coworkers at virgin that i am self-sufficient and didn't need a tour guide or a babysitter to get around the city. damn straight.

monday:
- more reading in parks around the city
- the mysterious (gorgeous) man in the white shirt and kakhis who watched my stuff at starbucks. he smiled when he saw my reaction to the rain, and told me that i'd learn to like san francisco eventually. who says new yorkers are jerks?
- coffee with cindy
- yankees game: yankees v. tigers: 10-3 ;) the yankees wiped the floor with the tigers, a very proud moment, my being there to witness it. yankee stadium is amazing. cindy went with me; that's right, i went to a baseball game with my ex's mother and i didn't have a single beer! i must be crazy, but it was actually a nice outing. and she did save me for having to talk to the lonely, semi-crazy girl in the stands.
- drinks and appetizers with barb at heartland.
- ... there's more, those were just the highlights

tuesday: shakespeare in the park day!
- waited on line at the delcourt theater in central park for much ado about nothing tickets. it was 75 and perfect, in the shade under the trees, light breeze, the new york times, and iced coffee delivered(!) to the line in the park.
- came out from getting tickets to see the NY Post's article about Kerry-Gephardt. found out the truth from our indian cabbie who professed that Kerry should have picked a woman to be his running mate.
- walked around the upper west side, from 68 and Broadway. ate at a sidewalk cafe. pictured Tobey living there while attending Juliard and promptly turned three shades of green with envy.
- saw Before Sunset. it is perfect. i wanted to miss my plane.
- met two of Barb's friends from work and saw Much Ado About Nothing. it was practically perfect. but even if it hadn't been, the view of the sunset from the delacourt would have been worth waiting on line for.

wednesday:
- ate at a real diner. breakfast should always include 2 eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese, hash browns, toast, and wonderful coffee, and should never cost more than $6. remind me again why i was getting on a plane?
- made it to laguardia. managed to get exit row seating, went to go wait for an hour before boarding.
- fuck that :) jumped on a flight that was departing in 20 mins. i was in the airport for 15. i was the 2nd to last person on the plane. Michael Moore was the last one.
- babysat a 19 month old boy and his nervous flyer mother the entire hour and twelve mins.
- landed in Detroit, hugged my parents, drank in the beauty (yes, it exists) of michigan, met up with my sister, ate at J. Alexandar's.
- grudgingly got on a plane for california. i managed not to completely break down and cry this time, though. i suppose that's an improvement.

thursday:
- get slamed by the realities of not being a work for 2 days.
- had lunch with christian. pretended to not notice the pink elephant juggling in a tiara next to us.
- more slammage by work.
- but wait! do i sleep now? :) no, of course not... saw King Arthur with Andy & co.

friday:
- ... coffee... why do i get to work so early?
- work stuff

... and so on. i could go on, but, really, this is just getting boring. and long :) did i mention long?

i'm going to try to find that coffee :)

oh! dan is back in bursely. i bet he has a dry erase pen on his door.
