Right now i want... quick apology, then more work
hi. so i just realized i haven't blogged for about a week, and worse, my last post was me being scared. a literal clifhanger: will she play? will they forfeit? what the hell is going on? :) or something like that.
it's not like i haven't had a lot to write about: we did forfeit the game wednesday night, but not because of me; i hung out with Steve and Vinny and his friend in Palo Alto; i spent my first day in the city and saw the most wonderful documentary Broadway: The Golden Age and finally found a hole-in-the-wall coffee house that i really wish wasn't so far away; steve went on vacation so i have the apartment to myself again; Steve Jobs was treated for cancer; i went ballistic at work yesterday and went to see A Cinderella Story which turned out to be the best medicine. i played basketball again. i've realized i'm no good at writing fan fiction.
there's been drama and intrigue and curiosity and disappointment. there's also been contentment and pleasant surprise and fun. and right now, i'm just mellow, easing into my morning and work which i know will try my nerves again. at least i don't feel guilty about leaving and coming back later, i did that yesterday, ended up staying late, but i fixed a lot of what was broken.
and, boy oh boy, has this been a week for politics. fun stuff, really. the speeches, the editorials, the impromptu debates (bill o'reilly v. michael moore? or bill o'reilly v. ben affleck? [amusingly enough, ben did pretty well, i was almost impressed]), and i really hope you all caught the daily show last week because it was nothing short of genius. now if i could only find someone who would seriously debate with ME... there are things you miss living in PC-valley instead of Ann Arbor....
speaking of Ann Arbor, thank the heavens, a miracle has happened: the broadway bridge is back open! may all of north campus rejoice, the path to zingerman's and the gandy dancer is cleared again. what is it about those converted old train stations? they really make the best restaurants...
i've been talking too long. i'll leave you with this last thought: i think i'm addicted to chocolate muffins with my morning coffee.
