Right now i want... coffee?
a nasty trick was just played on me downstairs at the cafe; now, i'm sure it wasn't deliberate - there's a new girl working there and she probably just doesn't know any better - but it was still nasty.
see, i get coffee every morning: regular, not decaf.
i pick up my large coffee cup, pour in the chemical sweeteners, add a bit of milk so i don't burn my tongue, get a wrapper so i don't burn my fingers (these are all lessons i've learned through experience, for the record), and pour my coffee from the big silver urn on the right side, put on a lid, and move on to get my bagel (or muffin, or whatever).
and while i'm sure you probably never needed to know the steps i go through to get coffee in my pre-coffee haze (isn't it scary that i drive to work in said haze?) i have a point, i promise.
this morning: for the first time since february 2nd, the coffee urn on the right was decaf!ew! ew ew ew ew ew! that was the nasty trick! i almost had to drink decaf!
thankfully, there were several people around the urns at the time and i happened to glance up at the label which is how i discovered this dreadful problem.
and then, to add insult to injury, the regular coffee was out. at 9:30 in the morning. now, my fellow ex-baristas and current-engineers out there will tell you that above all when you're working a morning shift at a coffee bar, you don't play loud grating music, and you don't run out of coffee.
ok, mine is starting to kick in... i'm better now... i think.... good morning :)
