Right now i want... :)
When Barb and I were... juniors in college and both had our apartments, we made a huge point every December of getting "little" christmas trees for our places and decorating them. Not trying to replace our home trees, and really partly as an excuse to take a break from studying, these trees were pretty and oddly comforting.
so, of course, we had to spread the joy....
That's where Mssr. Christian Foster Howes comes in. See, Christian was a double major in EECS and Percussion Performance which basically translates as a one way ticket to no free time and little sleep, and we liked to tease him that he needed more of a life. In reality, since he was one of my good friends, i was just worried about his sanity, but we can skip over that part.
Anyways, to get back to the story, one midnight run to Meijer Barb and I decided to make Christian a little christmas tree, so his little baits hole would look a bit festive.
We bought this two foot tall tree with bangles and bobbles and beads and a few toy instruments for presents, and marched it over to his dorm. Now, he was embarrassed and a bit annoyed as we took over his room and laid everything out, and pretended to be miffed for a few days, but the next year in december, that tree was back in his room. And every christmas since then, his little tree was with him.
Until this year: he sent it to college with his little sister.
