it's not every day you hear the New York Times Book Review say "Give 'em hell, Harry!"

There was a time when harry potter wasn't exactly on the Time's Book Department's Christmas list. It's nice to see they're coming around. Oh, by the way, did you see the very interesting reminder in that article about Dumbledore's Pensive? :) Ah, yes, it will be a hard wait for book 7.

Before i get back to work, i just wanted to mention that my trip to new york wasn't bad; far from it. I had a marvelous time, and i learned a very important lesson: now more than ever, not only do i want to live in New York, not only do i know where my life will be, but i want to do it right. I'm jealous as hell of a co-worker's apartment in one of the neighborhoods i adore. And as jealous as i am of Barb being in the city now (so far away *pout*), i want to be able to afford an apartment on Manhattan instead of living in Brooklyn (as adorable as it is). I want to be able to afford nice restraunts and theater tickets more than every few months. Of course, why pay for tickets when so many wonderful things are free? but that's a different story.

I know i want to do New York right. And if that means living and working in California for a few years to make sure that's possible, that's ok too.

Just, please, don't begrudge me my moods when i have to face the extreame differences between the two coasts.
