Blatant Amateurs Ancillary Contours

Recently i wondered how unusual the word "ancillary" is. I postulated that it is fairly common, and people shouldn't be shocked to hear it in normal conversation.
Well, now thanks to the wonder of the net, i have my answer: "ancillary" is the 14,267th most commonly used word in the English language today. While it's ranked behind "blatant," and "amateur," it's used more often than "contours," "commentator," "feret," and "aroma."

Personally, i think this just indicates that a lot of people read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - especially Chapter 13 (Mad-Eye Moody) where Professor Moody turns Draco into a feret - where every word in the previous sentance is used. But i digress.
What i really wonder is how "prosecute" is only 15,843rd, or how "persecute" is ranked 52,408th. Though i have to say, i'm thrilled "bootie" is only 79,767th.
I shouldn't be surprised that the most common words are: "the," "of," "and," "to," "a," "in," "that," "it," is," was," and "i," if not only for the reason that i'm farily positive those of the most common words on my blog.

It's also nice to notice that "school" is listed directly before "money"... at least in our language we get that order of importance right.
Anyways, enjoy wordcount; it is truely a trip into the difference(891) between what we meant(893) and what the numbers(894) claim(895).
ETA: you might have to use FireFox instead of Safari for the search function of wordcount to work.
