Background Noise: the painter is whistling... something
Last website visited: the daily rounds
Mood: not quite annoyed, not yet excited
Right now i want...
I've been kicked out of my office.
I got in this morning, grabed a cup of coffee, made it upstairs, just finished checking my work email when there was a knock at my door. An older man in paint smeared overalls poked his head in and told me he had a work order to paint my office. Now. Which meant i would have to... not be in my office.
Love the notice.
I also had to temporarily take down my mural, which was highly depressing and reminded me how much i need those bold flowers on my walls.
So, here i am, sitting on the couch down the hall, my laptops battery draining, the potent smell of paint starting to make everyone loopy, the high pitched noises of the sound check (back to this soon) beginning... and i'm wondering what the hell i'm still doing here.
The WWDC beer bash is tonight, and i've promised to help work the party (still not sure what i'm doing, but whatever), which means i have to be here tonight. I still don't know who is playing, and the full sound check hasn't begun yet, and i'm trying not to speculate too much on who it will actually be. Last year i was thrilled to find out that Jimmy Eat World was playing the bash, but majorly bummed out when my blog was linked to on a Jimmy fan board where i was slammed as a stalker.
Google + GroupieTenacity really can bite you in the ass sometimes.
So what happens if i get back from lunch and i think i'm going to pass out from fumes? I'm thinking of catching a matinee and coming back for the party. I'm not going to get much done out here on the couch, that's for sure.
It's too bad i didn't know about this yesterday, i could have waited for Steve's fabulous leather chair to be delivered. Oh well.
ETA @ 4:48 to add: i take it back. i should send the painters a friggen thank you card. I went to a movie, and now i'm sitting on the balcony at work with my laptop listening to the sound check for tonight's concert. the weather is lovely and i really can't complain right now.
